Looks like I am registered for the half in
Bantry after all. I found an e-mail confirming my bib no. (444). It would appear that the dog may have eaten my race pack (or it got lost in the post) - so all I am waiting for is confirmation as to whether I can pick up a new race pack on
Sunday morning or whether I'll have to travel to
Bantry on
Saturday night.
As it's paid for and given that I was considering going down on Sunday and spectating from my bike I may just run the bloody thing (as opposed to race) - you know the sort of thing -
warmup over 2 miles, stretch a little and wait for Thomas and help him to the finish - kidding.
So
ITB permitting my test run on Sunday may just be somewhere between
Glengarriff and
Bantry (length unknown) - maybe I could coast along at 01:30 pace.
Sure, I run my guts out at 1:30 pace and you coast along by my side, just to rub it in ....
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself, and should you race, good luck! Get that body in for a massage once you're back home.
ReplyDeleteToo late now, but it would have been good to arrive unannounced; hide somewhere; start at the back of the pack; catch Thomas at 5k (he usually starts too fast); then run at his shoulder chatting, before sprinting the last 100 metres for a well deserved victory. :)
ReplyDeleteToo bad about the nagging injury. With the training you have done you probably would have kicked some major butt! Enjoy a leisurely run and get yourself back in top form soon.
