Still, the rugby compensated for missing the race.
Pity you're pacing Dublin in a way - could be a chance for a good fast time.Richardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05739196746383254321noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9214414108660001486.post-65228473578768617852011-10-03T23:38:38.985+01:002011-10-03T23:38:38.985+01:00Thanks Guys.

The last few miles are always tough - 1:41 is a very good result.

Cathal,
If you raced on Sunday you can't expect to keep the same pace for a marathon. If you stick your result for Sunday in the following pace calculator - ttp://www.mcmillanrunning.com/cgi-bin/calc.pl
you would get 3:35:10 for a marathon (i.e. 8:13 pace compared to your 7:51 average for Cork to Cobh). Having said that my 1:58:29 for my first Cork to Cobh translated to 3:47 in Dublin, having thought that I could run it at 8 minutes miles (3:30) similar to my Cork to Cobh. MacMillan would have given me 3:37. So anywhere from 20 to 40 seconds per mile slower that your 15 mile race pace. Hope it helps.Grellanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07132757537248747078noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9214414108660001486.post-55583784650901867572011-10-03T20:43:49.036+01:002011-10-03T20:43:49.036+01:00hi grellan. great run. just one question. i ran it...hi grellan. great run. just one question. i ran it in 1.57.40 - 3 minutes faster than i expected. how would you judge your time in this as a basis for you dublin marathon. in otherwords is it unreasonable to expect someone to maintain the same pace for Dublin?

cmickdalycathalhistoryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04722281301610566026noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9214414108660001486.post-17742513202910268102011-10-03T19:20:26.747+01:002011-10-03T19:20:26.747+01:00That is one mighty tempo run.
